====== The Legacy of Veldis Tangasa ======
To say that Eameeris Atyneen is nervous about her first day is an understatement. She's been away from her home city-state before, sure, but it's one thing to be visiting the city and touring the campus and another to be on the transport headed for the Fealealeuthre-Lathena University of the Sapient Arts -- her home for the next three years. As the city rushes by out the windows, the young Rissi clutches her datapad tight. It's an older model, nothing like the fancy new augment displays that so many people in the cities seem to have, but it was always good enough for her back home in the far reaches of Atyneen. After all, it was good enough to help her get a place in the University's fast-growing Hylan Studies department, and that was no mean feat. 

The datapad's screen flares to life with a notification. A message from her father.
"Don't forget about that database I sent you. My coworkor said it was really helpful when her child went to Lathena for that conference."

Eameeris sighs and shoots back a quick response.
"don't worry, i have it downloaded alr :>"

"... lescorr Ea, wing?"

Eameeris looks up at the sound of her nickname, wrenching herself away from the fascinating paper on Hylan graphemes she's reading. 
"... lamry, what?"

Her friend shrugs.
"Was semp quesking if fessling tonight argented, zif it swungsha you yesterweek."

"I-- hold on." 
A few taps of the datapad, and her second-most-visited link pops up. A few more, and she's found the definition she needs.
> **fessel.** //v.// to go out socially, especially to go to a bar or nightclub

Ea grins. "I'm wing to it!"

Conversation in the study room takes a turn towards discussion, only somewhat heated, of where exactly the group should fessel the night away, but Eameeris lets herself tune out again. She doesn't really know the difference between half the establishments being discussed, and more importantly, she trusts the judgment of her friends. Instead of trying to weigh in on whether it'd be better to start or end the night at Koro's favorite bar, she simply looks fondly at the database before her and sends a silent thank-you to whatever anonymous lexicographer decided that urban Kallimari slang was worth recording. 

The moment doesn't last long, though -- although she'll always be able to come back to the BUGD, the same can't be said of her translation graft. With one last tap of the datapad, the Brink Universal Galactic Dictionary is closed, and the Brink Hylan-Carto Dictionary, Second Edition, is opened.
