The Conglomerate

I have a old man's tale for thee – of ashes and rebirth. The ongoing cycle of life, death, and rebirth.

The system. It never favoured the low-worker like me. I'm simply an old man now – one among many. Previous miner and refiner for the Prismari Industrial Association. Oh – how that sickness has bloated in the farthest reaches of space. Simply one among many – a part of a greater collective. They told me it was a good thing – that I was apart of something great. That I was helping to build something.

Heh. Whatever that means. Simply lies by executives who are not tall enough apparently.

It's a strange feeling though. I cannot deny I'm taking part in history here. Change – good or bad – sometimes I can't tell the difference. It is change though, rejection of the status quo. Shows things always move eh? Always tugging the wildest and most unpredictable directions.

The Conglomerate is on the verge of a new age, a better age, and this old miner has has a role to play in it. I doubt I'll be remembered, as the worthy people who made this happen are the real heroes. But perhaps someday someone will listen to this and know a humble miner named Samuel was part of it all. Playing underneath the toes of giant's. I'm glad for once in my life, these giants were merciful.

– An extract from a letter of an ex-worker of the P.I.A
