TRANSMISSION RECEIVED

DECRYPTING

Dear Wing Commander Donnell Veeris,

Whilst I am sure you are looking forward to your well-deserved rest, it saddens me to hear of your upcoming retirement.

In the five cycles since its establishment, the Do-Loris colony has thrived, and as its commander, I must say it has been a pleasure to watch it do so. As I'm sure you are aware from my recent reports to the Guild, the colony is now self-sufficient, able to produce the required resources necessary to sustain its population with no need for the regular supply ships from home to restock. The colony is well on the way to becoming its own full-fledged city-state; I believe we may even have the Sky Marshal's backing, based on a stray comment she made while visiting last cycle.

Furthermore, we are now at a stage where we can welcome migrants to the colony en masse; the Corico embassy on Kallimar is looking to send settlers our way. Only a few dozen or so at first, but I am hopeful for more. For too long, the known galaxy has been divided into thirds – it's my aim to have Do-Loris be a fully integrated multi-planetary community within my tenure as governor.

That would be the goal, anyway. I apologise for sending what you and the McCloud system must know already, not least through my own reports. The real reason for this transmission is personal. I wish to thank you, for your work done for Kallimar, and as an ambassador in the Guild. Several people have made Do-Loris what it is today, and you are one of the ones we ought to thank for it.

Do enjoy your retirement, I wish you nothing but the best.

Until the workers of the galaxy are free,

Vice-Marshal Satom Tas-Alathemanay
