The Legacy of Lyton Amiable
Time Waits For No One
Lyton Amiable steps for the final time out of the detention satellite and into a shuttle. He moves carefully, for the last fifteen years have not been kind on his muscles. He sits properly, presentably, into the seat – not that the pilot is watching. With that he is launched towards Corico, his first moments of freedom finding him floating a few feet from the vast nothing. Through the window he watches the galaxy; hundreds of stars as indifferent to his release as they were his incarceration.
The shuttle touches down and Lyton steps out onto a homeworld alien to him.

And so, the world has changed. Familiar – yet different. It always moves on, even when you don’t want it to.
Lyton Amiable. Once a corporate lawyer, as slippery and evasive as they came. Someone who tried to play the system – attempting to disappear from it by moving in the shadows. Yet the system has changed. It always does. And when you take something from it – it always takes something back.
Now, the tale of Lyton Amiable remains a footnote in the great volume that is history. A small light in a galaxy full of bright beaming stars. It makes one feel small – empty – hollow. All the structures of the past: Aldon-Jure, The P.I.A, dozens of shadowy contacts, they all lie in ruin. Naught but shadows now – dwarfed and outgrown in a galaxy that will forever move forward towards new horizons.
